You Can't Be Who Society Wants

I believe in individuality. Every girl is her own person with her own interest and her own voice. But that comes at the expense of people feeling that they can voice their opinons about who they think you should be and all the great things you should do.

The truth is that you CAN do what you want and BE who you want. The problem is that that can be anything! You can get lost in the craziness that is our world. You have to have a destination to know which route to take in your life. When you link up with positive people it's so they can create a postive influence over your ability to make decisions. They can share their successes and failures with you.
You can hear their testimonies and use that information to make the best decisions for yourself.

When you try to operate in your own strength and shut the world out, you can't hear the wisdom that comes from storytelling. I read books of women who have LIVED because I want to know what to expect and what to steer clear from. I want to know what my options are in life. I want to know how much people have struggled for me because it makes me want to be more grand and work harder for them, for myself, and for people of the future.

As women and girls we have to learn to not let the world rest on us, but to stand on top of the world. It's our place. We can't be the ones who get lost in the shuffle, we have to be the ones shuffling and dealing the cards. We can't be the ones who are always trying to figure out what's going one, we are destined to be the decision makers!

Every girl will choose their own path in life. You don't have to be a housewife, but if that's what you like, that's fine. You can be an engineer even if it's a male dominated industry and no one in your family has a clue to what you do. Who you become has no bearing on what everything thinks about it. This goes for less than classy decisions too. If you want to be a stripper (Yes I have heard girls say this). That's a decision that at the end of the day will be left to you and you alone. The question I have to ask is this. WHY? Whatever it is you want to become, why do you want it?

I want to speak and write to share a larger message to girls of the world that they are special and worthy.  It fuels my work, I think about it all the time. I work on it all the time. I'm passionate about it because its meaningful, it will outlive me. My words will stand the test of time. I will make a difference in the community and I will be the type of woman other girls aspire to be. I will teach girls that there is such a thing as a classy, smart woman and not only say it but be that. When you decide your role in life you've got to answer the WHY? If the only thing you can answer is, I want to do it for the money, then I want to tell you THATS NOT GOOD ENOUGH! You're more than a dollar amount. You'v got so much more to offer this world. Really a few dollars a night? Really?! Enought to get hair and nails done? Really?

You've got gifts and talents that are unique to you. When you take the time to join organizations, clubs and centers that will help you develop them you will blossom! You are a precious flower. Without nourishment you will shrivel up and people can't admire you for who you are. You want to bloom and stand out. You want to branch out. You want to drop seeds and multiply your vision far from the place where you're planted! It's your time to flourish in the world and not fear it.

Society, and by that I mean people in your community, can make decisions about you based off of your gender, your race, your neighborhood, and your religion. I hate the fact that racism, sexism, and discrimination still exist but it's not a reason to give up on who you want to be and the things you desire to do. So what you're black? So what you're a girl? So what you live in a low income neighborhood?

You have all the power inside of you to be anything you desire. As long as your mind can think, your heart can desire and your mouth can talk, you can communicate to the world EXACTLY who you are and who you desire to become.

Continue daily to work on your vision of the ideal you! Dress in a way that demands respect, talk in a way that commands action, and act in a way that demands followers. You are a leading lady, now star in your life! I'm SO ready to give you your standing ovation.
